April Favourites

April Favourites

It’s the end of April, so I’m excited to share my favourites! Of course I’ll have products, but I also have my new knapsack, and current weightlifting routine.

Joe Fresh translucent powder – I’m using it with this Body Shop cheek brush (which I wouldn ot recommend for blush, so now I have a use for it) it’s super good for setting my foundation and under-eye concealer

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour full coverage foundation – I picked this up last month in my Sephora haul, and have absolutely loved it. The light/medium sand is perfect for my skin shade, and it works really well even through workouts. As I’ve said before, I mostly do my workouts before my shift at the gym, and I don’t like to bring my makeup with me, but I also don’t like to look like I’m twelve when I’m at work, so I need lasting foundation. This stuff is great!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in “Stockholm” – my first and only brown-ish lip colour, and I really like it.

Maybelline Lash Sensational – I don’t even need to use an eyelash curler with this mascara!

Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in “Apocalyptic” – still my favourite spring lip

Essie “Cute as a Button,” Nails Inc “Baker Street,” and Morgan Taylor “Eye candy”

Jansport Agave Daypack – I love my new knapsack from MEC- it’s literally the same as my previous Jansport which I bought in high school, but there are no holes in it, the fabric is more water-resistant, and the colours are way more awesome. I had been so sad to replace my bag, since it was the perfect size and pockets, but it’s the same setup! So happy.

Obviously my favourite for the past couple months has been my powerlifting program. Check out my post about startingpowerlifting here. Maybe it’ll encourage you to see what your body can do, and see how much your body can change with a few months of heavier lifting. I’ve been loving doing Layne Norton’s PH3 program, which is 3 months of increasing percentage-based training during the week (75% on Sunday, up to 85% by the end of the week). I’ve been very careful of being intuitive about it. Just because one week I hit squats at 155 x 3, doesn’t mean that I’m going to keep that consistent. If I had a bad sleep, things are tight, I might only hit 135 x 3.

My biggest favourite? Getting accepted to grad school! I’m going to go to the University of Ottawa for a Master’s of Arts in Globalization and International Development! I can’t wait!
